The New House

You find your self on the 2nd floor with the six bedrooms.

He walk to the front door and open it, and knock on the knocker to see if it will talk, "Do you say anything or are you just security?"


He know the other wizard should have his own books and workshops and library of magic books, but where

The door knocker opens his eyes and says

"Yes"

"Where the magic library and office and the manual on the house and how can I talk to you without opening the door." I tell the door.

"Do I look like I am the butler? I am here to make sure that authorized people get in and that is all. You wizards are always trying to get more than was bargined for."

"Then Who do I talk to? if not you." I said a little annoyed at the door.

"How should I know? All that I have control over are the entry ways into this estate. I cannot see anything inside of the house."

I close the door after going back in and said "I get better response from a stump," he sign, "So if I was a magical house how would I access it?" he head down/up to the labatory.

There are a few things that I forgot to describe about the lab room.

The door has a heavy drop bar lock on both sides and the floor is very smooth; colored chalk is on the table.

I search the room, and close the door and bolt it, after a while he draw and protection circle and case small spell to see if it works, he at a lost of figuring out his mentors books and papers.

You sit down and start preparing your spell. Part of this process is opening your self up to the magic around you. While doing this you notice that the north wall has some type of spell all over it. It looks to be some type of spell that is designed to be some type of camoflauge.

I get up and go investigate the wall.

With the naked eye the wall looks like any other wall but from what you can tell the magic that covers it is Illusionary and hiding something. Its hiding something physical on the wall.

I cast a dispell magic on the wall, to see what behind it. "Dispellus Enchantis"

When you cast your dispel magic spell you see the blank image of the wall change to that of a mural that takes up the whole northern wall. The mural shows an image of your boat dock the hill and your house. There are trees in the background, birds flying around and a setting sun. It is very detailed and very ornately done.

I step up and press on the house image "Open" I said hoping the blueprint of the house will show.

Nothing happens when you press the house but as you get a closer look at the picture you notice that a brick in the chiminey, the door, and one of the windows, look like they can be depressed.

I press all three and hope something happens.

You press all three together at once and the door on the mural starts to glow and expand. Its keeps expanding untill the bottom of the door reaches the floor in your labortory. You take a step in and find another room about the same size as the one you just came from. There is a table and chair. There is a book shelf on the far wall with another table beside it. On the book shelf there are about 20 books that radiate magic.

"Now this is what I was looking for," I said as I walk around the room looking around and then check the shelves, and see if there are any journals anywhere to help him understand what his purpose here is and look through a few of the books. If nothing else he will close the door and leave feeling a little happy. Time to go unpack he go down to get his gear and unpack his journals and magic books and bring them up here and any non magical he take and put in the library, he check to see how they are put in order and place his books in. Then he was about to go up to his room and decide to check out the outside the house, he go out the back.

You spend a few minutes looking over the books and find a book about ley lines and heart stones. It looks to be a very interesting read and will take more time then you have today. You find non magical books that you find here look to be to valuable to take upstairs so you decide to leave them downstairs. It looks like he has things organized by subject and title. You have a half hour left before the meal you put on the stove is done.

What area of the grounds do you want to start looking at.

The building behind the house, maybe a coach house or gate house that behind the house and check the garden.

I will post a map tonight but if you go out the door on the porch that is on the west wall you find a garage type building and double doors on the south wall. There is a 10' wide road leading from the garage heading south that ends at a double door gate that open inward into the yard. The whole house is surrounded by a 8' wall that is about a foot thick. The yard has scattered trees, bushes, and flowers.

I will check the garage first. then the grounds around the manor.

In the garage you find a wagon with misc. horse tack. There are spider webs scatter all over. Just regular sized spiders. It looks like the garage has not been used in quite awhile. You heard a couple mice or rats scurry away as you opened the double doors. On the east wall in the northern corner is another door. It looks to open up onto the small walkway that leads to the main house.
